Explore campaign fundraising for General Assembly candidates

Candidates for the Connecticut General Assembly have collectively raised more than $700,000 in campaign funds leading up to this November’s election, according to data obtained on June 8.

For most candidates, this data represents money raised before the most recent reporting deadline on April 10, but it includes more recent data for candidates who formed committees after that deadline.

Pace of opioid-overdose deaths in Connecticut still rising

The biggest jump in the first three months of 2016 was among deaths involving fentanyl, an extremely potent synthetic opioid that’s often used as a painkiller in hospitals.

The number of deaths involving the drug more than doubled in the first quarter of 2016 compared to the same time last year.
